Migraine misery

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Sept 15, 2008

Migraine sufferers who indulge in a weekend lie-in are more likely to suffer an attack than those who get up with the lark, researchers claim.

Researchers at the Clinic of Neurology at University Hospital Zvezdara in Belgrade, found that patients who slept for longer than nine hours had more frequent migraine attacks than those who slept less. The findings were released at the European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress in London yesterday, at the start of Migraine Awareness Week. The Migraine Trust funds research into the condition, which affects more than 40 million Europeans. Almost two hundred thousand people suffer a migraine attack every day in the UK.
