Tribute to death crash biker
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), June 3, 2009
FRIENDS have paid tribute to a biker killed in a crash.
Neil Stephenson, 50, died on Sunday night in Ashington's Wansbeck Hospital, after he was thrown from his Kawasaki at the town's Woodhorn roundabout on the A189.
His girlfriend, whose name has not been released, was riding home on the back of his bike when it left the road.
As the 53-year-old continued to receive treatment in hospital, the stunned community around Neil's Carnaby Close home, in Prudhoe, said their "talented and intelligent" neighbour had loved his bike.
Lynne Rivett, 47, said: "You could sum him up by saying he would do anything for anybody any time. He would come and change my bulbs for me because I'm too short. He was that type of guy. I'm sure he'll be a big miss around here."
