Pupils' Sunny Period
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), March 23, 2009
THESE pupils were on cloud nine when they met weather presenter Paul Mooney.
Budding broadcasters from Greenfields Community Primary School, Wideopen, had a chance to find out about life in front of the cameras when Mr Mooney talked to them about his job.
The BBC weatherman, based in Newcastle, spoke to a group of 56 children at an event at Wideopen library.
Assistant librarian Michael Underhill said: "He had them gripped. He spoke for about an hour and then they asked lots of questions.
"They were particularly interested to hear how he uses an earpiece to do it to the second. There were lots of sensible questions and some funny ones too. The final question was: 'Do you get rich being a weather man?'"
