Web designers net new premises; Working Life

TWO web designers have a double cause for celebration after moving into new business premises and acquiring a niche reputation for delivering websites to an unusual sector of the internet.
David Calvert, 32, from Cramlington, and Alan Easton, 35, from Consett, formed Boxmodel Design after working on individual projects for a mutual custome r.
From the early days of working from their homes, the pair have now moved into new business premises at Ashington's Lintonville Enterprise Centre where they are able to meet clients and develop their business even furt her.
The business specialises in designing websites, corporate brand identity and search engine marketing and has clients in the world of sport, education and general business. However, it is the recent explosion in online social networking and dating sites that has led to a marked increase in business for David and Alan.
Boxmodel Design can now boast contracts leading to the creation of six new online dating websites with the prospect of more in the pipeline.
David said: "Worldwide, there is a pounds 2.6 billion industry in dating websites alone. Each one of our websites is bespoke and exactly matches what the client and the end user needs from a webbased match making service."
Alan added: "Many of our clients have ideas that they really don't know how to convert into reality and that's where we can help them.
"It's quite ironic that dating websites have developed into one of our core businesses, both David and I are happily engaged to our fiancees so we won't be using the services of our clients - no matter how good their websites are."
