Danny has alarm clock ready

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), August 25, 2006

Byline: Doug Thomson ,

The alarm clock will be ringing earlier than normal at Danny Schofield's Doncaster home tomorrow.

The Giants' march to rugby league's Challenge Cup final means the kick-off of Town's big League I showdown with Nottingham Forest at the Galpharm has been brought forward to 12.30 to allow fans to watch the Twickenham tussle on television.

It's the first of two early Town starts on successive Saturdays, with the following game at Crewe getting under way at 12.15 because it's being shown live on Sky Sports.

But the altered times will make no difference to the way Schofield prepares.

He'll follow the same routine, but simply start earlier.

"Everyone has their own way of doing things, but for me, it's just a case of bringing everything forward," said the left-sided midfielder, who scored his first goal of the season in last Saturday's 2-2 at Brentford.

"I'll just have my lunch at breakfast time!

"It's happened quite a few times over the years.

"Last season alone, I remember starting early against Welling and Worcester in the FA Cup and then at Rotherham on Boxing Day."

It was a normal evening kick-off of 7.45 for Tuesday's Carling Cup clash with Mansfield, but Town were strangely out of sorts.

And after their 2-0 first-round defeat, Schofield and Co are determined to ensure it's business as usual for what looks like being their toughest test of the season yet against Forest.

Colin Calderwood's men also crashed out of the Carling Cup, losing 1-0 at Accrington.

But they've won four out of four in League I, beating Bradford, Blackpool, Northampton and Brighton to be second to Port Vale.

"We'll have to be on our game to beat them, but we have a point to prove to our fans after the Mansfield match," said Schofield.
