Newsome Panthers returned to winning ways in Division I with a solid 20-8 triumph over Victoria Rangers.
Boosted by the arrival of three Under 17s in Ben Cuttell, Harvey Singleton and Thomas Guinan, who all impressed on their debuts, the Panthers looked strong.
Cuttell led the way in defence with 23 tackles, while in attack there were two tries each for Dave Farrell and Phil Drain.
Alex Burrows added two goals to secure a victory in which Lee McAfferty was the man-of-the-match, with Damien Kenchington close behind.
