Panthers hand out prizes

Huddersfield's largest junior rugby league club had to spread their presentations over two evenings.
With over 150 players, Newsome Panthers held their 2005-06 awards night at St Patrick's Catholic Centre with a presentation evening for the senior players from Under 13s to Under 17s.
Each player received a player's award from Huddersfield Giants star Albert Torrens followed by each age group's individual awards.
Under 17s: Most improved Harvey Singleton; Coach's player Austen Barrowclough; Players player Thomas Guinan.
Under 15s: Most improved Sam Good; Coach's player Alex Chatterton; Players player Rhys Dutton and Josh Cuttell.
Under 14s: Most improved Mathew Graham; Coach's player Sam Harding; Players player Joe Haywood.
Under 13s: Most improved Nathan Robinson; Coach's player Scott Farnsworth; Players player Kieran Sill.
The second presentation evening for the younger age groups had former International referee Billy Thompson as guest presenter with individual awards going to:
Under 12s: Most improved Will Smith; Coach's player Matthew Moylan; Players player Jamahl Hunte.
Under 11s: Most improved Conan Pierre; Coach's player Robert Jackson; Players player Thomas Wharton.
Under 10s: Most improved James Chappell; Coach's player Timmy Taylor; Players player Callum Parkinson.
Under 9s: Most improved Ryan Newburn; Coach's player Matthew Coates; Players player Harry Redfearn.
Under 8s: Most improved Robert Denton; Coach's player Max Netherwood; Players player Eddie Graham.
Individual awards were also presented to Jason Crookes, who won the Healey Ward Trophy for Achievement, and William Wallace and Daniel Whiteley who shared the Sue Jackson Award for Endurance.
Awards were presented for individual contributions to the club and went to officials Andy Brewster, who was awarded the Landlord's trophy, and Richard Netherwood, who received the Clubman of the Year prize.
Newsome Panthers also paid special thanks to Rod and Sheila Studholme of Newsome's Fountain Inn for their continued support and all other volunteers without whom the club could not function.
