Staff foil chip shop raider

A masked robber fled empty-handed from a raid at a fish and chip shop. The man went into West Street Fisheries on West Street in Lindley at 8.15pm last night armed with a crowbar. He demanded cash, but staff refused to hand any over. He fled into a black Audi car driven by an accomplice. The car bore false registration plates stolen in the Savile Town area of Dewsbury on January 30.
This number is YA52 CDE. The raider is white, 5ft 6ins and stocky. He wore black clothes and a black ski mask. Anyone with information should contact Kirklees CID on 01484 436685 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
