Patrick Stewart (pictured) is to pass on all he knows about acting to students at Oxford University. The Mirfield-born star, best known as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek, has been named as the next Cameron Mackintosh Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre. He will be based at St Catherine's College and give his inaugural lecture in April.
Stewart, who is also Chancellor of Huddersfield University, is currently appearing in Anthony and Cleopatra with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
