CHEATED!

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), June 4, 2007

Byline: CHRIS ROBERTS ,

Angry Giants coach Jon Sharp has admitted he felt 'cheated' after watching his side battle out a thrilling 9-9 Super League draw at Hull yesterday.

Although it was the first time Huddersfield had claimed a League point at the KC Stadium, it failed to appease the Galpharm chief.

Sharp was adamant his side should have been awarded a penalty in the last second to win the match, while he also felt a number of other key decisions went against his side.

"I now know exactly how Steve McNamara felt after Cardiff," said Sharp, referring to Bradford's last-minute defeat when Leeds scored the winning try from a player in an offside position.

"Steve felt cheated and I feel as if a similar injustice has occured here.

"I have no doubt that if this match was on Sky TV and under the new directives, that incident on the final hooter would have been referred upstairs.

"If that had happened, Sid Domic would have been ruled offside and we would have had a kick at goal to win the match.

"I'm very angry and very, very disappointed about it all, and my players feel exactly the same about it. But what I also think is ironic is that the Hull players feel the same about the incident as well.

"I'll obviously be taking the matter up with (RFL referees chief) Stuart Cummings, because that is the way you have to do these things.

"But when you feel this angry, it's sometimes difficult to keep a lid on things, particularly as there were more than this one incident.

"For instance, I was disappointed when Hull were given a penalty for an alleged two-on-one ball steal when the Hull player was trying to offload the ball in the tackle. Two points to Hull."
