BOOKS: Red herring alert

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), April 11, 2008

Byline: DENIS KILCOMMONS

NIGHT WORK by Steve Hamilton, Orion pounds 18 99.

JOE Trumball is still getting over the murder of his fiance Lauren two years ago, the night before they were due to marry.

Now he has met a new girl, the raven haired Marlene. At last, life seems to be beginning a new chapter. Except that tragedy is waiting in the shadows.

A story told with pace and emotion that drops one or two delicate red herrings and packs in plenty of surprises. It is also extremely well written.
