Grants to good causes

THIRTY Huddersfield charities have received pounds 1,900 of grants from Yorkshire Building Society (YBS).

Among those awarded cash were Huddersfield Crusaders Majorettes who picked up their share from YBS on New Street on August 27.

The grants were part of a pounds 54,000 giveaway during Together We Make A Difference Week which was held in June to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Charitable Foundation.

YBS customers were invited to nominate a local charity to receive a pounds 50 cash boost.

Other nominated causes in Huddersfield included Kirkwood Hospice, RSCPA Huddersfield and Longley Special School.
