Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), July 14, 2008

FRAIZER CAMPBELL appeared as a substitute as Manchester United kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 2-0 win at Aberdeen.

The Huddersfield-based striker came off the bench in the 61st minute of the testimonial for the Dons' European Cup Winners' Cup-winning side of 25 years ago.

Campbell, 20, was loaned toHull last season and played a key role in the Tigers' promotion to the Premier League.

The KC Stadium club wanted to sign him on a permanent deal, but the player is aiming to add to his two competitive appearances for United.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says the club are in no rush to appoint a successor to assistant manager Carlos Queiroz.

With less than five weeks to the start of the season, Queiroz left Old Trafford to take the job of coaching his native Portugal on Friday.

"You take your time with these things," said Ferguson. "I knew when Portugal came for him that it would be very difficult for us. But we've good staff and we'll carry on."

Current United coaches Mike Phelan, Brian McClair and Rene Meulensteen are among the names said to be in the frame for the post, along with the likes of former Reds defender Laurent Blanc.

Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford to continue his recovery from ankle surgery in three weeks but will be out for 12, according to the Portuguese national physio Antonio Gaspar
