Our demise compulsive viewing on Milky Way
Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), July 28, 2008

ASTRONAUT Edgar Mitchell was the sixth man to walk on the moon. He is now 77 and a respected scientist. What's more, he believes in little green men that look like ET.
Usually, people who declare, so specifically, that aliens exist are categorised as being from the far reaches of loony land.
But perhaps Dr Mitchell should be taken seriously.
He has said he was briefed about the existence of aliens during his career with American space agency NASA and he has friends in the agency who have made contact with them.
The aliens were technologically far more sophisticated than us but, thankfully, they were friendly.
Which is just as well.
A complete stranger from outer space might take one look at our world conflicts, genocide, starvation, pollution and third world poverty and think they had stumbled across an apocalyptic creation from the imagination of horror writer Stephen King.
"By heck. What do you think of this lot, Commander Og?"
"I think they are best left alone for another millennium or we destroy the whole sorry lot now for the good of the galaxy."
Instead, our visitors have been peaceful, loveable, ETs.
Maybe Dr Mitchell and his buddies at NASA have misjudged them. Maybe they are not the brave space explorers of a far distant star system. Maybe they are TV producers looking for a daytime reality show to beam back live to all the cable viewers along the Milky Way.
That small green chap with the bulging eyes and the rather forceful personality? He's the Simon Cowell of Planet Ig and he's making a fortune showing Planet Earth going to hell in a hand basket live across the galactic federation.
