Caring for the carers

CARERS can take a well-deserved break at a series of events held by Huddersfield charity The Nerve Centre.

The charity, which supports people with neurological conditions, is holding four days of activities for carers from June 10 to June 13 at its base in Standard House on Half Moon Street.

Carers can pick up information, meet people in similar situations and try out a range of alternative therapies.

On June 10, there will be a taster session for Reiki healing and reflexology by practitioner Chris Lane.

On June 11, there will be free beauty therapy sessions, including nail painting, by Jayne Parr. After lunch, there will be a talk by homeopath Tracy Blake.

On June 12, free shiatsu massage sessions are on offer by Becki Wakefield and Adrian Midgely of Half Moon Health Foods will give a talk.

On the final day, there will be more Reiki and reflexology taster sessions by Hilary Booth and a talk on hypnotherapy by Mark Fisher.

All the days run from 10am to 4pm.
