Local briefs: Red Cross call to all cyclists

THE Red Cross is holding a 23-mile off-road mountain bike challenge at Dalby Forest on October 12 and wants Huddersfield people to help.
The purpose-built track is specifically designed to challenge mountain bike enthusiasts and the location was recently used as an end stage to the Tour of Britain.
Participants are asked to raise a sponsorship of pounds 100 or more and pay a registration fee of pounds 10. If you want to take up the challenge, to register for the event or for more information contact Rachel on 0114 242 7381 or email rolney@redcross.org.uk
