Society learns of tragic Anne

BRIGHOUSE Historical Society enjoyed learning more about the life of Anne Boleyn at their latest meeting.
Local historian Diana Priestley gave the talk on the tragic history of the second wife of King Henry VIII, one of his six wives who was beheaded for treason.
The group's next meeting takes place on Wednesday, October 8, at 7.30pm at Brighouse Rest Centre onWest Park Street. At the meeting, Maurice Taylor will be talking about Fountains Abbey, a ruined Cistercian monastery founded in 1132.
New members are always welcome. It costs pounds 6 to join for a year, or non-members can attend meetings at a cost of pounds 1 per meeting.
