RSPCA calls for helpers

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England),  Sept 5, 2008

ANIMAL lovers in Huddersfield are being urged to volunteer with the RSPCA.

The charity's Huddersfield branch is looking for new trustees for its committee.

Each year, trustees are elected to run the branch, which covers an area from Ainley Top to Emley.

Trustees are all volunteers and unpaid, but have the chance to gain new skills.

Peter Bolton, animal welfare manager for the RSPCA north, said: "You don't need to be an expert, although skills in areas such as finance or business or knowledge of employment and charity legislation are useful.

"Trustees must be able to work with people and have good interpersonal skills."

Anyone interested in being a trustee should contact branch chairman Tim Bray on 01484 650573 or secretary Anne Lucas on 01484 682586 or visit www.rspcahuddersfield.org.uk
