THE FEELING: Join With Us. Britpop was around in the 70s, clasped in the hands of Paul McCartney, 10cc and, arguably, even Supertramp and ELO. There's all these kind of influences weaving through this quirky little number that erupts into pure singalong pleasure.
GIANT JR Vs ERTHA KIT: I Want To Be Evil. It would take someone very brave indeed to take catlike Ertha on in evil mood.
Here her feline vocals are just the wrong ide of sinister as they come up against the grunge-style heavy funk in this remake of her 1953 song.
KATY PERRY: I Kissed A Girl. Her promo people reckon that if Lucille Ball and Freddie Mercury had ever had a secret love child then it would look, sound and behave like Katy Perry. Either a very vivid imagination or someone needs some kind of professional help. Perry gives a feisty swagger to the pounding synth electro pop - but that's about all.
FUGATIVE: It's Summertime. The pop bit of this hip pop's fine, but the 14-year-old's rapping falls apart with lyrics like "we go together like Ant and Dec." Or should that be Dec and Ant? Who knows which is which anyway. One for the under 18s' clubs.
METRONOMY: Heartbreaker. An electronic ode to male heartbreak that turns into some kind of male bonding session.
They're probably better off going to the pub and forgetting about the woman causing the misery and accompanying unmacho behaviour.
LEON JEAN MARIE: You Must Know.
Shape-shifting pop ushered along by bustling drum n' bass, yet never feels to arrive anywhere.
