National briefs: Lost info probe

JACK Straw's Ministry of Justice was briefing data protection watchdog Richard Thomas today on the progress of its inquiry into the latest loss of personal details on a Government computer disc. It was revealed over the weekend that a lost portable hard-drive contained data relating to 5,000 employees of the National Offender Management Service.
