Staff help home's mission to buy new minibus

Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Huddersfield, England), April 22, 2009

A FUNDRAISER for a Huddersfield disability charity has raised hundreds of pounds.

Staff at baby equipment firm Mamas & Papas, based at Colne Bridge Road, Bradley, held various raffles in aid of Edgerton-based Beechwood Cheshire Home.

They raised just over pounds 845 for the charity's minibus appeal.

Staff member Angela Black and operations director Richard Spychalski presented the cheque to Beechwood Cheshire Home's volunteer co-ordinator Ann-Marie Brook and residents Paul Bowess, Derek Pilkington and Peter Roberts.

The charity - run by Leonard Cheshire Disability - provides residential day services and respite care for physically disabled people.

It is on a mission to raise pounds 28,000 for the home's minibus appeal.

The specially-adapted vehicle would be used by residents for outings, maximising their independence and quality of life.

To support the minibus appeal or find out more information about it, contact Emma Riley on 07738 329195.

The charity is always looking for volunteers, from those wanting to help to raise funds to people willing to spend time with residents.

For more information call Ann-Marie Brook on 0779 3803958..
