IN THESE tough economic times, it would seem sensible for businesses to be encouraging customers, not making it harder for them to visit.
Kevin Cook's first attempt at fitting a new bookcase failed, so he made a second visit to B& Q to buy more bits.
That decisiveness proved expensive for Kevin's return trip to B& Q saw him slapped with a pounds 60 fine from parking company Excel which rose to pounds 100 plus the threat of court action.
All of that because Kevin made two trips to the store within three hours.
He turned to the Examiner to highlight his plight and the power of the local press won the day.
After we contacted Excel they suddenly saw sense and waived the fine..
