Teenagers make military history

THESE two Huddersfield teenagers have joined the Army And both Ryan France and Kym Walter made a little bit of history as they did so.
Both were among 18 young men from West Yorkshire who enlisted into The Yorkshire Regiment in the same ceremony - a record number for the regiment.
Ryan, 18, and Kym, 19, will begin their military careers at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick, joining the Combat Infantryman's course which lasts for 26 weeks..
Warrant Officer Steve Harriman, senior recruiter, said: "One of the best things about Army life is the unrivalled camaraderie and lifelong friendships that you make.
"Because these 18 young men have all enlisted together, they will start to experience that from day one." The Yorkshire Regiment was formed in 2006 when the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment, the Green Howards and The Duke of Wellington's Regiment merged..
