Free CL fees guide is launched

Optometry Today, July 13, 2007

CIBA VISION has launched a free guide to support practitioners who want to change their fee structure.

The success of the company's 'How much are you really worth?' seminars last year highlighted how implementation of professional fee-based pricing has become a key practice management issue.

CIBA's planner has been designed to assist the process, by breaking down the task into ten manageable steps. Each step provides further information and tools to help practitioners grow their business, including spreadsheets, template brochures and videos.

Julie Gazey, owner of Potters Bar Eyecare Centre, successfully completed the transition.

She said: "In order to keep up with the changing optical market, our pricing structure had to change. By shifting the emphasis from products to professional care, a valid comparison was made and patients were able to see the value of our work. This has enabled us to really build our business by offering lenses at more competitive prices. We are now in our second year of professional fees and are delighted we made the change."

Professional marketing manager at CIBA Vision UK, Mark Draper, said: "The Journey Planner reflects our ongoing commitment to eye care professionals across the country and we are confident that practitioners will recognise its potential as a valuable practice resource. The emphasis is on making a daunting task manageable and providing support to practitioners throughout the process."
