STANSW provides a number of services and professional development events for science educators in NSW
Teaching Science, Sept, 2008
STANSW provides a number of services and professional development events for science educators in NSW. STANSW has the Young Scientist Awards, an awards program for students to enter their research projects and the K-8 conference, as well as an Annual Conference that has been held at the end of November / early December for the last five or six years. STANSW hosts workshops, led by experienced markers of the external science exams, for teachers in metropolitan regions and for both teachers and students in country areas.
Additionally, STANSW delivers professional development events that meet the needs of teachers at specific times in their career, the Early Career Teachers Program and Leadership Training Seminars. Each of these activities is held over four days throughout the year and focuses on the pastoral and pedagogical needs of teachers.
