Orthopedic Design & Technology, Sept-Oct, 2007

Fort Lauderdale, FL-based MAKO Surgical Corp., a developer of minimally invasive, robotic-enabled techniques for knee surgery, has added Charles W. Federico to its board of directors.

A 32-year veteran of the medical device industry, Federico most recently served as group president and CEO of Orthofix NV, for which he still remains a director. In addition, he serves as a trustee for the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.

Prior to joining Orthofix in 1966, Federico served as president of Smith & Nephew's Endoscopy unit (formerly known as Dyonics, Inc.).

Federico also currently serves on the boards of SRI/Surgical Express, Inc. and BioMimetic Therapeutics, Inc.
