INTRIGUED BY THE TANGO? WATCH OUT-YOU MAY GET ADDICTED.
Toned legs dueling like swords. Sultry, backbreaking dips. Many students are drawn to tango after seeing an elaborate stage show or film production. But while the acclaimed musical Forever Tango or Robert Duvall's new film Assassination Tango convey the spirit of the dance, they also feature a flashy performance style of the artform known as tango fantasia. While this type of tango is not usually done in a social setting, many practitioners are drawn to this exaggerated style rather than to the subtleties of the genuine tango de salon.
