Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez play characters whose lives are transformed on the dance floor in Shall We Dance, which hits theaters this month. The film, based on the 1996 Japanese hit of the same name, features movie-choreography veteran John O'Connell's choreography and an all-star cast.

Australian native O'Gonnell signed up for dance classes at age 6 after seeing Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney in the film Bates on Broadway. He went on to study at the Ray Reeve and Margaret Maloney Dance Academy, Australia's top ballroom dance school, in his hometown of Thirroul and competed with the school until 16.
