True Colors

Ballet Austin will inaugurate its new 275-seal studio theater with Cult of Color: Call to Color, a collaboration between director/choreographer Stephen Mills, contemporary visual artist Trenton Doyle Hancock and Austin composer Graham Reynolds April 3-6 and 10-13. Mills's choreography will bring to life Hancock's ongoing mythology, which deals with power struggles between his characters and strong moral dilemmas "It's a fun project," says Mills.

"It's playful, but it's also graphic. I'm not sure it's going to be appropriate for children." The production also features fantastical costumes and a colorful backdrop created in collaboration with Philadelphia's Fabric Workshop and Museum. For more: www.balletaustin.org
