Concise Oxford Companion to Irish Literature, The, January, 2000 by ROBERT WELCH

Ó Briain, Liam (1888–1974), revolutionary and language revivalist. He was born in Church St. in Dublin and educated by the Christian Brothers and at UCD where he lectured in French. He fought in the Easter Rising , Cuimhní Cinn (1951) giving a lively account of those events.

He translated into Irish works by Shakespeare, Molière, Synge , and Pearse for the Taibhdhearc theatre in Galway.
