Ó Flatharta, Antoine (1953– ), dramatist; born in Leitir Mealláin, Co. Galway, he was educated in the Connemara Gaeltacht . His first play Gaeilgeoirí (1981), at the Abbey Theatre , revealed a harsh dramatic realism brought to bear on the contemporary Gaeltacht community.

This was followed by Imeachta na Saoirse (1983) the TV play Grásta I Meiricea (1989), Ag Ealaín in Éirinn (1985), and An Solas Dearg (1995), the latter a play dealing with crossed lives in a Gaelic-speaking radio station. Bloody Guilty (1989) was in English.
