‘Little Cloud, A’, a story in James Joyce's Dubliners (1914), written in 1906. Little Chandler is going to meet his former friend Ignatius Gallaher, now a London journalist. In a fashionable eating-house, Gallaher regales him with stories of sexual licence and Chandler confesses meekly to his marriage.

Returning home, he feels resentment and loses his temper when the baby starts to cry.
