Directions: Many songs reflect the time in which the songwriters live. Fans often take up the musicians' work as personal anthems. Read the lyrics to "The Times They Are A-Changin'" and "Waiting on the World to Change" (pages 4 and 5). On a separate piece of paper write a summary of the messages of the songs and how they fit into the culture in which they were written. Compare and contrast the themes of the lyrics.
