Spivak, Violet Cleveland Jewish News 10-07-2005 Password ... Mort sent me ... Flappers, gangsters, bootleggers, jailbirds and crooked cops all showed up (250-strong) at Mort and Kimberly's Speakeasy (at Landerhaven) to revel in the jazziest, most opulent and fun-loving shindig of the year.
It was another sensational extravaganza tossed with roaring '20s flaunt and flair by nursing-home mogul Mort Weisberg, who looked smashing as Diamond Jim Brady, and his red-hot mama Kimberly Clos (Mae West never looked so sensuous). Gadzooks, what a set-up! Boas for the dames; everyone getting a picture taken next to one of the distinctive vintage cars (a 1924 Chandler and a 1929 DeSoto); bathtubs loaded with beer and gin; a martini and caviar bar ... even a soda...
