Half-sticks move into 1-pound packs.(New Packages)

Land O'Lakes is moving half-sticks of butter into its top-selling 1-pound packages.

The half-sticks, which comprise 2 ounces or one-quarter cup of butter, were introduced into half-pound Land O'Lakes packages in 2006. The company has introduced 1-pound packages with half-sticks into 21 states in the East and Southeast.

The 1-pound half-stick package will have an information burst on the left side stating, "New Size! 8 Half Sticks." Land O'Lakes claims to be the only company selling butter in 2-ounce sticks. These sticks are handy for use in cooking and baking, since many recipes call for the use of butter in 2 ounces or less.
