Southwest Airlines has signed a multi-year agreement to use the patented, environmentally friendly EcoPower engine wash system offered by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners.
Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. company.
Southwest Airlines, which said it is the world's largest operator of CFM56-7B engines, will use EcoPower to save more than $20 million at today's prices in fuel costs annually and eliminate 135 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
