AAP Sports News (Australia) 03-01-1999 OLY: Coles owes Australians an explanation says Gosper SYDNEY, March 1 AAP - Australian International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Kevan Gosper said Australians deserved an explanation from his fellow IOC member Phil Coles over allegations that Coles accepted more than $60,000 in hospitality from Salt Lake City Olympic officials, the Sydney Morning Herald said today. Gosper was surprised at the extent of the damaging revelations against Coles which emerged from an ethics committee investigating the successful Salt Lake City bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics, the Herald said.
