Lewis and undefeated challenger Michael Grant produced the heaviest combined weight of any title fight in boxing history, breaking a 67 year old record. Grant tipped the scales at 114kg, 1kg more than Lewis, in a public ceremony outside the doors of Madison Square Garden, where the two will meet for the undisputed heavyweight crown.
