SALT LAKE CITY, Feb 20 Reuters - Red-white-and-blue hats, flags, sweaters and jackets are everywhere at the Winter Games, but those who predicted a festival of American jingoism must have been disappointed at the halfway point of the Olympics.

Sure, the chanting of "U-S-A, U-S-A" rang out whenever the US team did well, but no more than the cries of "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi" did two years ago at the Sydney Games.

In fact, those same shouts of Australian pride have been common enough in Salt Lake City since Saturday, when short-track speedskater Steven Bradbury won Australia's first gold medal at a Winter Olympics. ...
