ATHENS, April 5 Reuters - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today gave Greece a rare dose of praise for speeding up the troubled preparations for the 2004 Summer Games, but warned that deadlines remained tight.

Almost two years since Greece was warned it may lose the Games because of delays, bureaucracy and infighting, the IOC's chief inspector for Athens said after a three-day visit that projects appeared to be back on track.

"I am very happy to report that the situation has changed tremendously, " Denis Oswald told a news conference.

"Even if all the projects are tight, we are confident things will be delivered...
