MELBOURNE, Jan 23 AAP - Cash-strapped Soccer Australia is on the verge of financial salvation after clinching a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with sportswear manufacturer adidas.

The beleaguered organisation is also set to sign a long-term major sponsor for the Socceroos within days to further improve its parlous financial position.

And officials believe they are close to solving a contract wrangle with television rights holder Channel Seven which has cost SA its major revenue stream and the national soccer league television coverage this season.
