Sail: Konica Minolta with narrow lead over Skandia
New Zealand super maxi KONICA MINOLTA has opened a small lead as south-westerly winds
of up to 35 knots hit the fleet in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
KONICA MINOLTA is well into Bass Strait three miles ahead of fellow super maxi SKANDIA,
with NICORETTE a further nine miles astern.
Six yachts are pulling in to Eden on the NSW far south coast to reassess their position
in the race, while 15 of the 116-strong fleet have retired.
HIDDEN AGENDA retired due to injuries to crew members, while MORE WITCHCRAFT is continuing
to race after an injured crewman was transferred to a police boat.
