> AAP Sports News (Australia) 12-27-2004 Sail: Konica Minolta with narrow lead over Skandia New Zealand super maxi KONICA MINOLTA has a four-mile lead as thunderstorms, lightning and south-westerly winds of up to 35 knots lace the fleet in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. KONICA MINOLTA and second placed Victorian yacht Skandia are east of Flinders Island, with NICORETTE in third place 13 miles from the lead. The storm has forced 17 yachts to retire, with at least another seven assessing their position while sheltering on the NSW far south coast, mostly at Eden.
