AAP Sports News (Australia) 05-26-2005 Soc: Bookies hit hard by Liverpool great escape LONDON, May 25 AFP - English bookmakers Ladbrokes reported that they and their rivals had been hit hard by Liverpool's Champions League triumph with over 100 people backing them at 100/1 to win at half-time when they trailed AC Milan 3-0. The English giants eventually prevailed 3-2 on penalties after levelling the match in normal time and holding on in extra-time. Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "There was a nationwide gamble on Liverpool to win the Champions League and over 100 people backed them to win at 100/1 at half-time.
