AAP Sports News (Australia) 12-10-2005 SOC: World Cup ball back in traditional black and white LEIPZIG, Germany, Dec 9 Reuters - The ball for the 2006 World Cup finals will be largely in traditional black and white for the first time since 1994. The new ball, unveiled during the draw in Leipzig on Friday, is called the " Teamgeist" and features just a little gold colouring around the long panels. In France in 1998 the "Tricolore" was the first multicoloured ball to be used in the finals.
