SOC: German players tie up deal over boots row
FRANKFURT, Germany, Aug 15 AFP - German footballers on Tuesday reached agreement with
the German football federation (DFB) in a boots row which had threatened to scupper their
international friendly against Sweden.
The players had warned general manager Oliver Bierhoff that they would boycott Wednesday's
tie if they were not allowed to wear their own boots instead of those supplied by DBF
sponsors Adidas.
But the DFB said in a statement later Tuesday that agreement had been reached and
the players would wear Adidas for the match in Gelsenkirchen.
