AAP Sports News (Australia) 03-03-2007 Soc: Hawk-Eye sets sights on entry to football goal-line By Angus MacKinnon LONDON, March 2 AFP - Hawk-Eye, the technology used to judge tight line calls in tennis, will this weekend be proposed as the solution to football's desire for a reliable system of judging when the ball has crossed the goal-line. Football's rules-making body, the International Football Association Board (IFAB), will also review progress on the development by adidas of a 'smart' ball fitted with a microchip that bleeps when it crosses the line and an Italian system using digital cameras fitted in the frame of the goal.
