Tander clocked a one minute 9.793 second lap to finish ahead of Ford's Craig Lowndes in the 20-minute all-in qualifying session. Lowndes, celebrating his 35th birthday on Sunday, clocked a time of 1:09.905 to secure a spot on the front row of the grid. Ford's Mark Winterbottom, second in Saturday's race, continued his good weekend to snare third position with a 1:09.9654 with Holden's Todd Kelly joining him on the second row.
