> AAP Sports News (Australia) 06-23-2009 Swim: FINA approves controversial swimsuits, for now Controversial swim suits approved for racing this year may eventually be banned and one of Australian EAMONN SULLIVAN'S records will remain after a ruling by world body FINA. The officials want more time to determine whether suits partially made of polyurethane are providing too much buoyancy. Current suits will be available to all swimmers at next month's world championships in Rome and new rules will be introduced for 2010. But FINA has failed to recognise the time swum in April by Frenchman ALAIN BERNARD who went under SULLIVAN'S 100m freestyle record. FINA said his ARENA X-GLIDE suit was not approved .
