THE BACKSTORY:

Although it is probably the quintessential off-road race vehicle of all time, there inevitably came a point in the early when Parnelli Jones' Dick Russell-built "Big Oly" Ford Bronco began to get a bit long in tooth. A once mighty, two-time Baja 1000 winner. Big Oly, like many a Kentucky Derby-winning thoroughbred, was ready to be put out to pasture.

Jones, however, was not, and his project was designed to blaze (pun intended) new trails in his off-road racing career.
